UNHCR’s 2008-2009 programme in Botswana aims to continue downsizing its presence and focus on assisting the Government with RSD.

Despite Botswana’s reservations to the 1951 Refugee Convention articles on employment and freedom of movement, the government is gradually granting citizenship to Angolan refugees.

UNHCR will therefore continue to advocate for the updating of the country’s Refugees Act.
